To help us achieve this, we seek a dedicated Telemetry Systems Electrician whose primary focus will be assisting with developing and continually improving the PLC programming used at Council's Water, Wastewater and other facilities. The successful applicant will also conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of PLC and SCADA systems, while assisting with efficiently and effectively delivering new projects and upgrades.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Trade qualification in Electrical or a related discipline and Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and management of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs.
- Demonstrated experienced in fault-finding, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance support and installation of switchboards, PLCs, RTUs and Telemetry equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot faults in your field of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively unaccompanied or in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.
- Developed high level organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Developed computer skills using industry related software applications.
- Willingness and ability to participate in the Telemetry group after hours on-call roster as required
- Develop and review safe work method statements and risk assessments, and implement safety strategies to promote a secure working environment for all team members
On a typical day this role will:
- Assist with the development and management of PLC programs for range of water, wastewater and other council assets
- Complete Telemetry PLC based projects to meet operational and maintenance programs in accordance with schedule and budget
- Provide technical advice and support for installation, maintenance and repair of switchboards, PLCs, RTUs and other Telemetry equipment.
- Fault finding and diagnosis of equipment and program failures within telemetry equipment across council assets.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,253.50 per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression.
Allowances: Adverse Working Level 1, Sewer Choke Allowance, Tool Allowance & On Call Allowance
Vehicle: This role also qualifies for a Tool of Trade Vehicle
