Role Summary:
Due to recent successes with local Victorian Utilities projects, Grid-Link is seeking a Senior Commissioning engineer to join our Engineering and Commissioning team. In this role you will be working on a range of exciting and challenging projects including brownfield and greenfield HV substations as well as utility scale renewable projects.
The candidate will be working closely with our project development, engineering, commissioning teams and external stakeholders (clients/networks). The role will be mainly based in our Melbourne office, the candidate will be required to travel to project sites as per project requirements.
Role requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advance Diploma in Power Systems
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in utility substation commissioning, proven experience in brownfield substation commissioning and outages management is desirable
- High standard of safety in commissioning
- “Authorized VESI Tester” on AusNet Network & other utilities in Victoria
- Good understanding of power system fundamentals, electric power transmission and distribution systems, protection, and control systems in substations and solar farms
- Proficiency in testing of advanced protection schemes such as Line distance & differential, transformer, CB management schemes
- Proficiency in testing of substation primary equipment – CB/CT/CVTs/MV/HV Switchgears and more
- Proficiency in using Omicron CPC100, CMC356, Doble Relay Simulation, CT Analyzer, CIBANO, Meggar
- Good understanding of SCADA points testing for substations
- Advanced communication skills
- Flexibility to travel – applicants must be comfortable with travel and working away from Melbourne metro
- Member of Engineers Australia or applying for membership (desirable)
