About Southbank Day Surgery

Southbank Day Surgery is part of the Nexus Hospitals group. We employ over 1600 talented and passionate people across 78 hospitals, as well as 3 support offices.

Southbank Day Surgery is a purpose-built day surgery with excellent facilities specialising in dental, ophthalmics, dermatology, plastics and sleep studies and will be expanding to offer IVF in 2024. Our hospital includes 6 operating theatres and 3 procedure rooms with our own specialised MOH’s laboratory.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing, the Floor Coordinator is responsible for leading and inspiring the hospital team to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes as well as patient experiences by ensuring the highest standards of clinical supervision, governance, safety and operational excellence are achieved.

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective day to day functioning of the hospital 
  • Liaise with other hospitals, doctors’ rooms, company representatives and other relevant stakeholders to meet daily clinical service expectations
  • Manage workforce planning of employees while building positive relationships with Visiting Medical Officers 
  • Maintain compliance through adherence to NSQHS, ANZCA and ACORN Standards
  • Effectively coordinates theatre activity and associated staffing requirements and rostering across the perioperative unit at any given time
  • Ensure the safety of our patients and promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across all areas of the hospital

About You:

You have a genuine passion for nursing and leading people, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will be an energetic leader with the following skills: 

  • Solid experience in a Clinical Nurse Role or Management role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing 
  • Working knowledge of NSQHS Standards
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Flexible to work various shifts and days
  • Registration with AHPRA
