Your responsibilities in supporting young people:
· Promoting independence and assisting young people with their daily routines such as household chores, personal care, meal preparation, and educational support.
· Implementing and following the young person’s individualised plans (e.g. behaviour support plans, cultural support plans) and employing a trauma-informed lens.
· Supporting young people to community events, appointments and family visits
· Administering medication (training provided)
· Writing high quality and accurate shift notes (training provided)
· Fulfilling our core values of caring, responsive, honest, and creative in your everyday support
Key Requirements:
· Obtained or working towards Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Youth Work, or a Community Services related field.
· Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
· NSW Working with Children Check
· NDIS Worker Check
· NDIS Worker Orientation Module
· National Police Check within the last 12 months.
· A valid and current drivers’ licence, and your own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
· Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
· Experience in managing challenging behaviours.
· Prior experience in supporting young people with various disabilities (highly desirable)
· A current certificate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (highly desirable)* Willingness to obtain the necessary requirements prior to commencement of employment is acceptable
