We are seeking a qualified Toolmaker. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to work within in a team but also be able to work independently.

Australian Design and Manufacturing Company providing quality automotive parts and components as well as non-auto products in the areas of transportation and recreation. 

Job Description: 

• Stamping tools for repairs and maintenance
• Assist in setting up the tools in presses.
• Using measuring instruments such as calipers, slip gauges, height gauge, micrometers, dial indicators for verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of press tool component fabrication as well as finished parts for conformance to specifications.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, fixtures and tools, using machine tools and hand tools. 
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, hand sketches or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating components, dies, or assemblies. 
• Trouble shooting experience in stamping tools for repairs. 
• Assist with tooling modifications, as required.
• Ensure that tooling is properly maintained within manufacturing and engineering standards. 

Your Experience Skills and Qualification 

• Trade qualifications with a Certificate in Tool Making
• Experience working in a tool room environment.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Extensive knowledge of Press Tooling, processes, and technologies 
• Extensive knowledge in the design of press and forming tooling. 
• Good use and understanding of computer systems and programs.
• Sound knowledge of engineering and production processes.
• Sound decision making and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
