Position Description - Tour Guide, Reservations & Customer Service

Status: Casual roles available

Reports to : Operations Manager


We have an opportunity for you as an experienced Customer Service provider in travel or hospitality to join our growing organisation. 

Reporting to our Operations Manager, this role is responsible for Sales, Bookings, Reception and Customer Service for Aquaduck, as well as being the Tour Guide on the Aquaduck.

You will be responsible for greeting customers, taking phone bookings and enquiries making booking for tours and experiences, checking customers for their tours on Aquaduck and Southern Cross Tours. You will need a great phone manner, effective written/typed communication skills, attention to detail, and people skills to provide exceptional Customer Service. The ability to multi-task and work cohesively and collaboratively within a small team will see you excel in this position. 

You will also be friendly, great with children and be able to deliver scripted commentary in an engaging and entertaining manner.  

Ideally this role would suit someone with travel, tourism and hospitality experience such as hotel front desk and reservations, ticket and tour booking experience or hospitality and events coordination, and/or experienced local Tour Guides. As is the nature of the industry, you must be available to work weekends and school holidays.

Tour Guide, Deck Hand Duties.

  • Boarding passengers onto the Aquaduck 
  • Provide Tour Commentary (we have a script) in an entertaining and enthusiastic manner
  • Ability to upsell  
  • Know and understand our Safety Management System (full training provided)
  • Share your love of the region with our customers.

Reservations, Sales & Bookings Duties.

  • Selling tours face to face and over the phone.
  • Answering the phone, taking bookings and assisting customers with their enquiries.
  • Management of reservation system, entering tour bookings, manifest and checkin management.
  • Management of payments, cash handling & balancing end of day.
  • Collation and checking off of vouchers and agent bookings.
  • Working closely with the sales & marketing department to deliver campaigns and promotions. 
  • Email management.
  • Data entry.
  • Ad hoc administration tasks as required.
