Mine Service Team (MST) Worker
Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world class zinc lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. About the role:
Reporting directly to the MST Supervisor, the MST Worker will assist with daily operations of the Village and to ensure the Maintenace and general tasks are carried out safely and to the highest possible standard.
Accountabilities
- General maintenance of camp facilities including sporting facilities, general repairs, yards maintenance, rubbish collection, removal and waste management, repair broken fixtures or fittings, apply paint and plaster, replace light bulbs, repair or replace ceiling or exhaust fans and filters, clean smoke detectors, erect shelving units or other built-in furniture and other duties as required.
- General airport and security activities including operation of security machinery and systems, loading, and unloading of goods and luggage as required, operation of explosives detection machinery, operation of X-ray detection machinery.
- Grounds maintenance including irrigation systems, maintenance of sprinkler systems, mowing, line trimming, weeding, digging, planting, and pruning.
- Provision of assistance to tradespersons as required.
- Maintenance of potable water treatment plants (water testing/dosing)
- Maintenance of in-ground swimming pool
- Bus driving – on time scheduling of bus services from village to mine and offsite as required.
- Security duties
Successful applicant will have:
- Heavy Rigid (HR) license (mandatory)
- Forklift license (mandatory)
- Certificate 2 Security Operation (desirable)
- Completed training in explosives detection (desirable)
- Completed training in X-ray detection (desirable)
- Experience with Reverse Osmosis water treatment plants. (desirable)
- Horticultural experience. (desirable)
