About the role

We are seeking an experienced Trade Compliance specialist to join L3Harris as a Trade Compliance Lead. Working with a highly skilled and tight-knit cross-functional team, you will ensure L3Harris’s adherence to legislative requirements and policies concerning the import, export, transfer and movement of sensitive technology and data – with particular emphasis on compliance with U.S. Export legislation

Reporting to the Commercial & Business Operations Director locally, and the Segment Trade Compliance Director internationally, your remit will be as broad as it is challenging. Day-to-day, your activities will include but not be limited to: managing AU-US Defence Trade Cooperation Treaty obligations, preparing & submitting export licence applications, providing expert advice on import/export control issues and ensuring compliance with corporate polices and applicable legislation.

About you

To be successful in this role and to best leverage the opportunities provided by L3Harris, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;

  • Experience working with Australian Defence Export Controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of US Trade Compliance requirements including the ITAR and EAR.
  • Familiarity HTS & Australia and New Zealand Customs regulations.
  • Proven experience with writing policy and procedure documentation sets.
  • Emotionally resilient, highly flexible and a naturally inquisitive individual.
  • Displays a high level of respect, diplomacy and tact when dealing with stakeholders.
