This is a full-time permanent position. 

The rate of pay will be $95,275.18 gross per annum + locality allowance and super contributions.

About the role:
The Tradesperson Mechanic will provide and maintain quality licensed mechanical services to Milingimbi. The role encompasses supervision, planning and scheduling work in co-operation with customers and suppliers.

To be successful in this role you need:

  • Successful completion of the Mechanical Trades Certificate, with substantial trade experience.
  • Extensive experience in working on differing machinery types and supporting skills - e.g. welding.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and organisational skills to co-ordinate materials, scheduling work and meeting timelines.
  • Commitment to flexibility to perform other related duties in emergent situations.
  • Demonstrated experience using computers to report and maintain budgets.
  • A current C Class Driver's License (minimum requirement - MR License preferred).

It would be desirable if you also possessed:

  • Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  • Previous experience working or living within an Indigenous setting and ability to demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural awareness in the workplace.
  • Awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural environment.

Employees must also be prepared to travel to remote communities via various means, including 4WD vehicles and light aircraft.

Employment with the EARC is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the inherent requirements to their position.
