About the position:
The Civil Construction Trainee will work with a Civil Construction and/or maintenance team while developing skills and abilities to complement studies, which can lead to fulfilling career prospects in various Civil Construction settings including, but not limited to, Labourer, Asphalt Worker, Civil Construction Worker, and Construction Hand. This position will work under direct supervision. This Traineeship is an entry-level training program for people seeking employment in the Local Government industry.
- There are two temporary full-time positions for 12 months based at our Charlton Depot.
- Training wage rates will apply for these positions.
- These positions participate in a nine day fortnight working arrangement.
- Work in a safety-conscious organisation - home safe every day!
Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the position:
- Completion of Year 10 education is mandatory, with completion of Year 12 education being desirable.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence is highly desirable.
- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Some work experience in the area of Civil Construction or maintenance is desirable but not required.
