Weekly Salary: $395.83 - $803.81 (Plus Super, depends on age and level of Highschool completed)
Hours: 35(Flexible work arrangements including rostered days off available)

Upon successful completion of the Traineeship, you will be offered an opportunity to move into a Creditors Officer position ($1,226.83 per week).

Orange City Council is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Creditors Officer. This is a unique opportunity to launch your career in finance while earning a Certificate III in Business. Upon successful completion of the traineeship, you will have the chance to be promoted to a full-fledged Creditors Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Creditors Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of Council's creditors. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in finance and accounting, giving you the foundation you need to launch a successful career in this field. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in processing weekly and monthly creditor payments, including major accounts such as Advertising, Electricity, Australia Post, and Fuel, in line with Council's policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain the Creditors' Name and Address Register (NAR), ensuring that creditor contact and payment details are up-to-date.
  • Participate in the reconciliation and processing of credit card statements.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations for enhancing efficiency in Council's creditors systems.
  • Contribute to the filing and archival of creditor payments and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Eagerness to enrol in and complete a Certificate III in Business
  • Basic computer literacy skills with a willingness to learn various software packages.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining organisational confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
