We are currently looking to recruit Trainee Home Support Workers to expand our growing Aged Care Workforce across theTaree and Great Lakes areas. If you answered yes to the questions above, you could be the person we are looking for!
What we offer
We'll support you as you study a Cert III in Individual Support while being paid to work for us. We also offer:
- Paid mileage for travel between clients
- Salary packaging of up to $15,899 per year (helping reduce your tax)
- MSS bonus leave
Our rates are:
- While studying: $24.49 per hour (part-time)
- After graduating: $34.23 per hour (part-time)
The role
As a Trainee Home Support Worker, you will help ensure clients have a safe home environment and encourage physical and social independence whilst safeguarding their dignity and privacy. You will provide safe and effective personal care and support tailored to individual needs.
This may include:
• Assistance with a range of daily activities, including cleaning and laundry
• Supporting clients with self-care, including bathing and dressing
• Involvement with social and recreational activities
• Ensuring the client's welfare and comfort are always maintained
TO APPLY, YOU MUST:
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to work in the Aged Care Sector
- Be able to do flexible shift work
- Be committed to completing paid online, classroom and on-the-job training
- Have a current driver's licence (no Ls) and a reliable motor vehicle with valid registration and minimum Third-Party Property Damage car insurance
- Be willing to commit to a minimum of 6 - 12 months of training and education
- Be able to perform physically demanding tasks as per appropriate Manual Handling techniques
- Be available to commence late May 2024
- Be willing to undertake a National Police Check and a Pre-Employment Fitness Assessment – all paid for by MSS
