Moving millions of people needs the skill and commitment of a talented workforce.About this opportunityThe PTA relies on our Overhead Linespersons team to perform safe and efficient maintenance of overhead line equipment (OLE) on our rail system. Our Trainee Linespersons Program provides the opportunity to develop the skills, experience and qualifications required to undertake this vital role.We currently have a number of full-time opportunities available on our Trainee Linesperson Program. As a Trainee Linesperson, you will work across various aspects of the PTA’s overhead maintenance function, whilst also undertaking structured on-the-job and off-the-job training. Once competent, you will be eligible for appointment as a Linesperson with the PTA.What do I need to become a Trainee Linesperson?This is a great opportunity for people interested in starting a career in the rail industry, as previous experience in rail is not necessary. We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Possess sound numeracy and literacy skills;
- Sound mechanical aptitude and an ability to use hand and power tools, machinery and equipment;
- Have a demonstrated commitment to safety and a strong desire to learn;
- Are a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Are comfortable working at heights;
- Hold a current Western Australian ‘C’ class driver’s license (or equivalent) and held it for at least one year;
- Upload your completed Application Form, a current resume (including two work-related referees) and evidence of your current unrestricted WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- You will be required to produce a copy of your National Police Check at the time of interview (or a copy of your receipt as a minimum).
- Candidates found suitable through this selection process may also be considered for the other similar roles.
- To be eligible for appointment to a position, suitable applicants will be required to undertake a full and comprehensive medical.
- You will be required to complete the PTA Integrity and Qualification Consent Form and an Australian National Police Clearance (NPC) should you become the recommended applicant through the recruitment process. Adverse outcomes of Integrity Reviews, NPCs and Drivers Licence checks (where applicable) may not necessarily disqualify an applicant from the selection process. All PTA positions are subject to ongoing integrity screening.
