Due to the exciting growth at the Superpit, Northern Star Resources have several opportunities for Trainee Shotfirer, to join the drill and blast team, at our world-class, KCGM Operation.
These residential positions are responsible for carrying out Open Pit charging and blasting activities safely, and in accordance with the blast plan at our Fimiston Open pit. These blast crew positions have a large variety of physical tasks, quality control and use of blasting techniques, where you would have the opportunity to learn and grow within our Superpit blasting team.
This role involves working primarily in the Fimiston open pit, with regular office-based tasks, working a 7:7-day roster, 12-hour shifts. Occasional night shifts, depending on the business requirement and mine cycle.
These permanent, Kalgoorlie-based residential roles allow for great work-life balance, and an optimal lifestyle in the Goldfields.
Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Be willing to apply for West Australian Dangerous Goods Security Card.
- Be willing to apply for West Australian Shotfirers Permit.
- Current unencumbered Western Australian ‘C' Class Drivers Licence.
- Previous experience working in an industrial/labour intensive working environment highly regarded.
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months)
- You must reside in the Goldfield region for this residential opportunity.
