THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Training Supervisor - Mining, the Trainer & Assessor, Trucks purpose is to provide mobile plant training services for the Mining Production department, ensuring staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver maximum performance.
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Primary focus is on Proficiency Training for Dump Trucks.
- Work with Mining Production leadership group to schedule training and assessment services.
- Conduct Verification of Competencies for specific equipment and/or High-Risk Work Licenses (HRWL) to ensure new team members are competent and authorised to work.
- Ensuring that the assessment activity complies with the principles of assessment (validity, fairness, reliability, flexibility, authenticity, currency)
- Deliver all training programs within their competency so that production quality, training, safety, health and environment requirements are satisfied
- Coordinating and executing training and assessment in accordance with Pilbara Minerals training standards and site-specific training plans
- Identifying any out of date, inaccurate or unsuitable content in site training material and bring to the attention of the Training Supervisor
- Support operations as required
- Delivering face-to-face structured training in both one-on-one situations as well as small group training in classroom and workplace environments
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with people at all levels
ABOUT YOU:
- Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations
- Minimum WA Manual C class driver’s licence
- Must have hard rock mining experience as a Dump Truck Operator as well as Training/Assessing, preferably > 3 years of each.
