The Community Transport Officer will be primarily responsible for transporting client’s to and from medical appointments, collecting prescriptions for patients with mobility issues and completing the necessary reporting requirements for each transport service provided.
To meet the individual needs of our clients the Community Transport Officer may be required to work flexible hours and travel to appointments outside of MDAS communities and into metro centres.
To be efficient and effective in this position the Community Transport Officer will need to be able to work well as part of a team and have a genuine interest in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People across the Mallee Region.

• Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Ability to use initiative and develop innovative solutions.
• Communicate, consult, liaise and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal, at all levels to achieve program objectives and goals.
• Ability to prioritise and organise, with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to report against and monitor own performance towards set KPI’s and program objectives.
• Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:
Experience working within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Willing to complete work related courses as advised by Manager.
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate & Booster information or a valid medical exemption.
