Develop your experience with this exciting transport role. This is the perfect position for someone wanting further exposure as a freight forwarding operator.
You will work closely with our Transport Manager and imports team, bringing your well developed relationship management, problem resolution and delivery management skills, to service our clients and ensure their cargo is delivered on time and in line with their requirements. The position requires an energetic and reliable person with great communication skills.
What will your average day involve?
- Maintaining communication with relevant stakeholders throughout the various stages of the transport process
- Placing and monitoring bookings in a timely manner
- Arranging documentation and appropriate transportation
- Maintain high quality customer service in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales team, account holders and internal staff to ensure client requirements are met
- Liaising directly with transport companies and warehouses to ensure speedy turnaround
- Plan and negotiate suitable pickup and delivery time frames with customers
- Work closely with team members on a daily basis and provide back up support to each other to manage seasonal volumes
About You
You are a highly organised and experienced Import Operator with experience across air and/or sea freight with a shipping company or forwarder. This position will suit candidates who are motivated, determined, with a willingness to learn and use their initiative to problem solve.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years in a transport coordinator or similar role will be highly regarded
- Experience in Seafreight operations
- Demonstrated ability to solve operational and transport problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Solid understanding of import documentation requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and adaptable learner
- Experience using Cargowise One
