The role
Kingston City Council's Open Space team is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to assist with the maintenance of our tree assets across Council-managed lands (including nature strips, parks and reserves). The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience in arboriculture and the ability to apply this in an urban forest environment.
Based at the Garden Boulevard Depot, the Tree Maintenance Officer will work to support the work of the Urban Forest Team and perform a variety of tasks including tree inspections and overseeing the work of our tree contractors. The role also has regular contact with residents and other members of the community to discuss service requests, raise awareness of our tree management program and to communicate decisions that are made.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with members of the public.
An understanding of contract management and experience in managing external contractors.
A relevant qualification in Arboriculture at a minimum level Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 3 or above.
Experience in managing tree assets in an urban forest environment.
A current Victorian Driver's License.
