About the role

Based from the Moruya Depot, our Tree Parks Inspector will be full-time in the Parks team and undertake all physical tree inspections and assessments, as well as the administering of tree risk management activities within Council controlled or managed lands.

Your main duties will include:

  • Conducting physical inspections and reporting requirements for Council’s parks asset, such as playgrounds and reserves.
  • Investigating and following up on inquiries related to Tree Management.
  • Providing quotes and budget control for relevant projects.
  • Reviewing inspection performance and achievements against code of practice and general service standards.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range of $3,303.15 to $3,759.53 gross per fortnight comprising:

  • $2,941.05 to $3,350.40 base salary
  • $36.56 Adverse Working Conditions allowance
  • $327.54 to $372.57 superannuation (calculated at 11%)

An offer of employment for this position is subject to medical clearance. Also, a fully maintained Council vehicle for to/from home use is available!

About you

You like the outdoors, working in a team and have experience writing reports for tree management. You’re a top communicator who can easily work with a range of people at Council and in the community. We want someone with experience in tree management who can appreciate the value of environmental improvement and safe practices. We need someone with a minimum Cert IV in Arboriculture studies who can assist Council in meeting those standards. To be successful, your application should further show:

  • Strong tree management report writing skills.
  • Proven computer literacy.
  • Ability to work flexibly (in line with the Award conditions).
  • Diploma in Arboriculture and other relevant horticulture/natural resource studies will be a bonus!
