Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and success of the farming business.Requirements:
- AQF Certificate II or III with at least two years of relevant experience
- Proven experience as a Truck Driver, preferably in a farming or agricultural setting.
- Valid truck driving license (HR, HC, or MC class) and a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools.
- Transport goods, equipment, and livestock safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secure and protected during transit.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with farm managers and other staff to plan and execute transportation schedules.
- Monitor and report any vehicle maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures when transporting livestock.
- Handle livestock with care and ensure their welfare during transport.
- Operate various types of trucks and trailers, including flatbeds and livestock trailers.
- Manage and document the handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the truck and related equipment.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Experience in transporting livestock and familiarity with biosecurity protocols.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
