Ultrasound Manager

  • Full Time ongoing role - 80 hours per fortnight with monthly paid day off

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Imaging Service is a leading health care provider of acute, sub-acute and community-based programs. The Melbourne Health Imaging Service performs over 260,000 emergency, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per annum across the following sites: RMH - City Campus, Private Imaging located in the Private Medical Centre, and RMH - Royal Park Campus.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join in the exciting expansion of the Medical Imaging Department. Combining technical expertise in ultrasound technology with strong management skills, this role will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for the ultrasound team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee the daily operations in Ultrasound, as well as providing strategic direction, developing and implementing policy and procedure to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, and nurturing a collaborative and supportive environment for our staff.

Your new role:

  • Bring your leadership skills to inspire and motivate our team of sonographers.
  • Facilitate and support the operational management of the Ultrasound service, including performance of clinical scanning, supervision, and training to support access and patient flow.
  • Develop and communicate departmental goals, objectives, and performance expectations aligned to the organisation's strategic initiatives.

About you:

  • You are an experienced team leader who builds strong trusting relationships, with a focus on promoting professional growth and ensuring effective teamwork.
  • You bring extensive experience in a clinical leadership role with demonstrated capability in fostering a high performance, cohesive, patient focused culture.
  • You demonstrate highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You hold a Post Graduate Qualification in Management (desirable).
