About The Role
Our Deputies support our Underground Mining Operations by providing leadership and direction to our vital underground shift crews in all planned mining activities. This important role is based in Narrabri and we are happy to support Deputies from other states across Australia in transferring their qualification across to a NSW Deputies Competency.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate crew/shift communications including Toolbox Talks/Pre-start meetings
- Mentor, train and assess employees on various types of mining equipment
- Motivate teams to achieve agreed production targets
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are completed in accordance with statutory, and site regulations
- Ensuring all crews are aware of, and are following, HSEC policies and procedures
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Longwall Mining
- Deputies certificate of competency
- Cert IV Underground Coal Mining
- Cert IV OH&S Workplace Safety (desirable)
- Ability to motivate yourself and others to meet production targets whilst maintaining positive team culture
