The Opportunity:We are looking for a skilled Underground Mining Lead to play an integral role in a range of underground projects. As the Mining Lead, you will lead your crew ensuring everyone works safely and efficiently. You will have experience in leadership, communication and people management skills with the ability to improve productivity, and deliver the projects within time and budget.
What the role entails
- Providing mining technical direction and contribution to all underground projects and operations
- Providing leadership and professional development to all underground technical personnel.
- Leading continual improvement and innovation initiatives and programs.
- Develop and assess effective project management systems and processes
- Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for project performance, planning and scheduled business flow process
- Develop cost and time estimates of planned work
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations
- Review current practices and procedures and identify areas for improving costs, efficiencies and productivity.
- Demonstration of an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
What you will need
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline, and/ or demonstrable progression into a management level role.
- Extensive mining engineering experience in complex Underground Mining environments,
- Proven ability working collaboratively in a global, multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated ability leading and managing technical personnel.
- Strong and effective stakeholder engagement, influencing and management skills.
- Detail orientation, strong planning, organisational, scheduling and coordination skills.
- Working for a managed services consultancy in the past would be highly advantageous.
