The details:

  • Maximum Term Full Time OR Part Time
  • Work 3, 4 or 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), depending on what suits your study needs
  • Appointment will be for the duration of your studies
  • $33.51 per hour + super (up to 12%)
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 1 of EBA5
  • Location: Redcliffe/Caboolture/Strathpine

About our opportunity

This opportunity for a University Student sits within our dedicated Galleries Exhibition, Programs and Collection Team!

This team delivers the exhibition programs to The City of Moreton Bay's three galleries - Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, Pine Rivers Art Gallery and Redcliffe Art Gallery.

We also manage the City's art collection of over 1500 artworks and objects.

The University Student role will work closely with the Curator - Galleries to provide curatorial support including research, writing, artist liaison and general administration to the exhibitions team in the development and delivery of exhibitions.

About you

We’re looking for friendly, reliable and motivated individual who is eager to receive industry experience and kickstart their career in arts with a focus on curatorial support.

You will receive hands on experience in the development and delivery of exhibitions across the three galleries that the team manage.

You will be an avid learner with a passion in your field of study and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with well-developed communication and literacy skills.

As a University Student, you will be a valued team member who provides administrative and project support to the Curator. You could find yourself working in an organisation in which your initiative and willingness to have a go will see you gain valuable skills which will complement the theory you're learning at university.

You will be currently enrolled in relevant university studies and be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week (Monday to Friday), dependent upon your study needs.

The position would best suit students who are in their final year of undergraduate or currently enrolled in postgraduate degrees in the following (or similar) areas:

  • Bachelor of Arts - Art History
  • Bachelor of Arts - Curatorship
  • Bachelor of Arts - Fine Arts
  • Master of Fine Arts
  • Master of Museum Studies
