Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated Unsealed Works Ganger to join Council's Infrastructure team. 

  • Permanent, Full-Time – 38 hours per week career opportunity. 
  • Location - Moree 
  • Attractive Salary ranging from $1,269.50 up to $1,459.90 per week (PLUS superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Unsealed Works Ganger will be required to ensure safe operation of all plant and equipment associated with the construction and maintenance of unsealed roads within the Moree Plains Shire Council and ensure the safe operation of the Road Network within the Shire. The role also includes the following:

  • Ensuring the effective daily planning and supervision of unsealed road maintenance and construction projects or other works assigned by the Superintendent
  • Ensuring the safe operation of all road works within the Shire
  • Promoting a high-quality neat and tidy image that encourages people to be proud to live and invest in the region.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications: 

  • A Certificate IV in Civil Construction is an essential requirement, however applicants who do not hold this qualification may be considered in some instances if willing to commit to enrolling in the qualification during the 3-month probationary period.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence
  • You will hold a WHS General Construction Induction Card, current Class C drivers licence and a Traffic Controller Certificate - Traffic Controller (TCR) and Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP).
  • Experience in road construction, maintenance works and knowledge of heavy pathing procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and comply with engineering plans, drawings and project specifications.
  • Ability to organise, manage and supervise the activities of maintenance and construction crews to deliver quality outcomes with set time frames.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
