We are currently seeking an enthusiastic hydrologist, or environmental consultant with relevant experience in water management, to join our growing Urban Water Management team.

The Role
We are looking for a hydrologist, environmental scientist, or engineer who has a technical background in relevant fields such as hydrology, hydrogeology, environmental science, water engineering and the preparation of technical reports.

The role will require you to be a proactive contributing member of a dynamic surface water hydrology team which is involved in the delivery of hydrological investigations, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, flood assessments, drainage and catchment management, water monitoring, Urban Water management approvals, water supply assessments, and recycled water quality management.

As a hydrologist you will:

• Play a pivotal role in assisting a team of hydrologists, water resource engineers and hydrogeologists.
• Deliver hydrological studies and flood assessments across Australia in the urban development, infrastructure, and resource sectors.
• Deliver projects in: 
  • Surface water investigations 
  • Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
  • Preparation of Urban Water management plans and strategies
  • Mine site related stormwater modelling, flood mitigation and water management planning and reporting

This is a Perth based position and may require occasional travel to field operations as required. 

About You  

To be successful in the application for the role, you will display:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (eg. Environmental Science or Engineering);
• 2 to 5+ years of relevant professional experience;
• A technical understanding of Urban Water hydrology and hydraulics;
• The ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team across diverse projects and tasks;
• The ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy to prioritise and deliver tasks;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Strong report writing skills; and
• Competent in Microsoft Office packages.

Ideally, you will also possess:

• Skills and experience in field work, undertaking water monitoring programs, and drilling supervision;
• Demonstrate experience in managing and delivering projects on time, on budget and to a high level of technical quality;
• Have skills in relevant modelling software (XPSWMM, TUFLOW etc.);
• Experience in the preparation of Urban Water management plans and strategies;
• Experience in the design of stormwater drainage systems, flood mitigation measures and water sensitive urban design (WSUD); and
• GIS experience desirable (we currently use QGIS).

The position is full-time, however part-time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
