About the Role

The User Experience/ User Interface (UX/UI) Designer is responsible for ensuring the University's website, app and information technology solutions are designed and developed to be visually appealing, responsive and with the end-User Experience in mind. 

You will lead and champion Human Centred Design (HCD) initiatives, which typically involves designing the overall look and feel of User Interfaces, prototyping, researching, analysing, and evaluating user needs and behaviours and then recommending approaches to improve the end-User Experience. You will identify strategic areas for improvement and recommend solutions to meeting goals efficiently.

You will create, manage and maintain the design system to define and standardise UI guidelines, design patterns, visual elements for consistency in brand and shared design language across all our digital products.

The UX/UI designer will play an important role in shaping the student and staff digital experience as well as advocating for a diverse range of customers and end users, and champion inclusion on the initiatives.

About You

As the User Experience/ User Interface (UX/UI) Designer, you will have: 

• 5+ years as a UX/UI Designer creating visually appealing and captivating User Interfaces for digital products such as websites, mobile apps

  and software applications.

• Extensive knowledge of design tools and software, enabling creation User Interface designs aligned with user needs and expectations.

• Strong understanding of graphic design principles, including layout, typography, colour theory and visual hierarchy with the ability to create      engaging and cohesive User Interfaces.

• Proven ability to facilitate workshops and discussions to drive productive and inclusive collaboration among stakeholders.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to ensure consistency in design elements, adhere to brand guidelines 

   and pixel-perfect execution of designs.
