Job description

Asset Inspect is an established and well-respected company providing inspection, risk management, and cost consultancy services to the property industry. 

We are seeking a full-time employee Valuer. 

The role of the Valuer is to provide reports to our clients to advise of the Replacement Cost of buildings for insurance purposes. The properties are mostly commercial and industrial, with a small percentage of residential. The range of property types is interesting and diverse, from retail shops to shopping centres, factories, warehouses, and strata buildings.

The Valuer will be on the road with the benefit of a fully maintained company car and working from our office in Rozelle. Onsite inspections will entail measuring, documenting, and photographing buildings. Whilst most inspections are within the metropolitan areas of Sydney, there is a requirement for regular regional and interstate travel.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings
  • Document building construction materials
  • Measure building size in square metres
  • Photographing the buildings
  • Calculate the Replacement Cost of buildings for insurance purposes
  • Provide a Building Replacement Cost report

Essential Skills/Experience/Criteria:

  • Member of API
  • CPV or RPV status
  • Knowledge of building construction materials
  • Ability to write and present cohesive, coherent, and technically sound reports
  • IT competent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel metro, regionally, and interstate
  • Successfully pass a national police check
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency status.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Is highly organised and able to manage/prioritise workloads while adhering to client deadlines
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Education / Qualification Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree / Tertiary qualification in either Valuation, Property,  Estimating, Development, Construction, or related building studies
