VCE Chemistry Teacher

Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Is Senior Chemistry your teaching passion? A committed Chemistry/General Science teacher is needed to join an accredited International Baccalaureate, Islamic school in Tarneit, offering a flexible starting Term 3, with an end of Term 2 handover given.Serving approximately 1600 students from years P-12, this exceptional school welcomes both graduates and experienced teachers. With a strong emphasis on maintaining excellent student behaviour and fostering a supportive environment, teachers of any faith are warmly welcomedKey duties:

• Design and develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the VCE Chemistry curriculum.
• Deliver high-quality instruction to students, facilitating their understanding of complex chemical concepts and theories.
• Create and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and exams, to evaluate student comprehension and progress.
• Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring the safety and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve academic success.
• Collaborate with other teachers, department members, and school administrators to enhance the overall learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.
• Participate in extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as science fairs, clubs, or competitions, to further enrich students' learning experiences.

Skills & Experience:

• Must have full Australian working rights
• Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
• Hold current VIT registration
• Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Chemistry
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
