Vawdrey Australia is the nation’s leading manufacturer of quality semi-trailers and associated transport equipment. We are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Vehicle Body Builders to work at our Dandenong South facility.
Primary responsibilities include
- Building and/or repairing semi trailers, including but not limited to: doors, roof sheets, roof rails etc.
- Ability to weld steel 1.6mm – 16mm ( MIG) and alloy 2 – 6mm ( MIG)
- Ability to perform curtain welding
- Be able to conduct chassis alignment.
- Be able to read and interpret job cards, record work carried out in detailed job logs within strict timelines.
- Sanding, masking and cleaning of the trailers in preparation for painting;
- Ability to colour match and mix paints as per the trailer specification;
- Setting up and working in a manual spray-painting booth;
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in metal fabrication, preferably in vehicle manufacturing industry
- Experienced in using Overhead and Gantry cranes.
- Technical Trade qualification
