As one of Toowoomba’s premier venues, The Rock provides a high-quality Gastropub experience in a contemporary and modern setting. Located in the Toowoomba CBD, this multi-level venue features a ground-floor restaurant, beer garden and high-end gaming room, a second level Top Bar with TAB, and private function spaces including a Boardroom. The Rock is part of the KPAT Hotels + Pubs group which operates other venues in the Townsville and Sunshine Coast regions including hotels under the Oaks brand.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, we are seeking a highly dependable Venue Manager to confidently lead our Toowoomba team in an energetic and friendly work environment. You will oversee all aspects of the venue operations, ensuring that the venue is functioning effectively and efficiently. Additionally, you will be actively involved in ensuring that a high level of customer service and venue management standard is met.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Management of day-to-day running of the venue to a high standard.
- Leading a management team which includes an Executive Chef, Duty Manager and Functions Coordinator.
- Staff management including recruitment and ongoing training, preparing staff rosters, timesheet approvals.
- Management of compliance with liquor licensing, gaming, food safety, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- General stock control including coordination of stock takes.
- Liaising with management in relation to revenue, wages, and Cost of Goods targets.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have strong leadership and customer service experience within the hospitality industry. In addition, you will have:
- Experience as a Venue Manager within a similar role.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
- Willingness to actively demonstrate and encourage best practice within all operational areas of the venue including hospitality procedures, workplace health and safety and quality standards.
- Ability to create a positive venue experience and ensure a high standard of service and venue presentation whilst always operating at capacity.
- Knowledge of, or confidence to acquire knowledge of H & L Point of Sale systems, and rostering and timesheeting system, Tanda.
- Hold a current RSA and RSG certificate as well as an RMLV.
