This position will providesupport and assistance with the set up and organisation of local,state, national & international events including majorperformances, sporting events, concerts and other activities. This role will work from a variety of venues and locations acrossthe City including the Townsville Stadium, Riverway Stadium, TheStrand, Reid Park and Riverway Parklands.  This role will alsobe responsible for providing customer service to Event Organisers,Sporting Organisations, TCC staff and thepublic.  

A big part of this role involvesworking on events, functions, training and elite sports activitiesat both Townsville, Stadium, Riverway Stadium and also the RiverwayParklands. These venues host local, national & internationalsporting events including One Day International Cricket, WheelChair State of Origin Rugby League, Townsville Fire WNBL training,AFL, Netball, Futsal, Street Soccer and more.

This role will also be involvedin events that are run by Council’s Events Townsvilleteam.  This team is responsible for delivering city wideevents such as Carols by Candlelight, Anzac Day and otherincredible outdoor events.

Aboutyou

Our ideal applicant willhave:

  • Current Queensland “C” Class manual drivers licence.
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card.
  • Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and have problem solving abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of event staging practices and procedures including demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety issues, duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Function/event staging service delivery skills.
  • To be physically capable of performing manual labour for extended period of times both indoors and outdoors.
  • Basic computer literacy is a requirement of this position.
  • A basic operational knowledge of simple event technology.
  • Be reliable and available for a variety of shifts.
