VET Course Coordinator & Trainer (SIT – Hospitality)

Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) is a Registered Training Organisation. AIBT is seeking a VET Course Coordinator for our SIT – Hospitality Portfolio. 

The role is full-time fixed term for 7 months (4 March – 4 October) to cover for a maternity leave. There is a possibility for ongoing employment. 

About the role

On non-contact days your work will include contextualising course materials and assessments and managing the progress and performance of students. Of course, there’s engagement with our industry partners for work placements to be done as well.

On teaching days your focus will be 100% on delivering a 5-star learning experience for students, in the classroom and the training kitchens.

About you

You’re an experienced chef or qualified cook with at least a Cert IV in Kitchen Management (ideally a Diploma or above in the hospitality industry). Your background as a trainer and coordinator in an RTO, especially with international students and preferably with accredited hospitality courses, makes you stand out from the crowd.

You’re comfortable with using digital systems and platforms for teaching, assessment, communications, and student records.

As a great communicator and inspiring trainer, students thrive under your guidance and instruction. With solid industry networks and a finger on the pulse of contemporary hospitality practices and trends, you keep your knowledge fresh.

With a healthy regard for compliance and efficient, professional business, you collaborate with others to find solutions to wicked and simple problems alike.

Essential Qualifications

  • One or more levels above the highest qualification in portfolio
  • TAE40116 or its replacement

Essential Clearances and Checks

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check with the South Australian Government. You must also have the right to work in Australia.

The remuneration is competitive and will be dependent upon the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
