- Scale 1 hourly rate inclusive of hourly allowance for 7-day roster (Monday to Sunday) & public holidays
- Working on Churchill Island providing high quality Visitor Experience farm support within our visitor centre and Grounds team
- Please note that availability to work on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays is required
The Role
This unique role on the picturesque Churchill Island ensures that no two days are alike. When not providing high-quality Visitor Experiences through tours, demonstrations, events, and a variety of other activities, you will assist with farm management operations and maintenance at the Churchill Island Heritage Farm, preserving its heritage values.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with paddock and livestock management
- Assist with wildlife protection and rehabilitation
- Assist Ground Services as required
- Provide high quality interpretative presentations to visitors and groups (education and tours) to promote heritage values of Churchill Island
- Provide quality customer service to all visitors and stakeholders
- Provide support to community and commercial events

Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated high level of experience in customer service and previous experience in visitor engagement, retail and ticketing within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to provide high quality service, information and guidance to a diverse range of visitors including non-English speaking visitors.
- Experience in system use, point of sale and cash handling and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proven ability to follow directions, de-escalate and resolve conflict and multi-task and prioritise in a diverse environment
- Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Working with dogs
- Whip cracking
- Knowledge of animal handling and care practices
- Knowledge of conservation farming
