Your Opportunity
The Vocational Placement Administrator ensures the effective and efficient operation of the Faculty’s Vocational Placement program to meet industry and student needs. The role is responsible for substantial liaison with industry to organise and follow-up placements and assessments, coordinates tutor visits to placements and prepares correspondence to various providers, relating to placements and assessments.
The Vocational Placement Administrator reports to the Team Manager.
We are currently seeking to fill 1x permanent full-time (1FTE) and 1x permanent part-time (0.5FTE) vacancies.
These positions are located at the South Brisbane campus.
Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
  • Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland Brisbane-wide safety culture.
  • Identify appropriate organisations, providers and their contacts available to host TAFE Queensland, Brisbane Region students with Vocational Placements.
  • Liaise with students, teaching staff, workplace training officers and industry to provide Vocational Placements for students in accordance with Training Package requirements.
  • Perform all administrative duties associated with the placement of students in Industry.
  • Plan and implement policies and procedures and assist in the development of systems and procedures.
  • Organise assessment roster and provide students, staff and industry with details of assessments visits.
  • Organise Industry Vocational Placements and orientations.
  • Identify teacher hours required for assessments each semester.
  • Develop and retrieve statistical and financial information on Vocational Placement program for access and analysis by various organisational staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports to indicate the quality, appropriateness and success of educational outcomes on behalf of the team.
  • Contribute to the achievement of TAFE Queensland’s quality policies by encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and is supported by the adherence/development of quality system documentation.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
  • No mandatory requirements
Highly Desirable Requirements
  • A qualification relevant to the industry (i.e. hospitality, hairdressing, etc.) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience would be highly regarded.
  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent as described in the current Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations.
