Volunteer Lead (Maternity Leave)

We are looking for a special kind of person – a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Volunteer Leadto join our dynamic Talent team at St Vincent’s Care. This is a maximum term contract until approx. June 2025 with flexible, hybrid working arrangements in place to promote work/life balance (work from home, in office &/or at our aged care homes). The successful applicant may be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

This role will report directly to the Talent Lead and will oversee the Volunteer Program and Team (2 paid, direct reports) for St Vincent’s Care Services. You will be responsible for driving the success of the 400+ volunteer-strong program, with a dedication to continuous improvement and networking with internal and external stakeholders. You will manage our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) grant, ensuring KPIs are met for the benefit of our residents and the community more broadly.

Things that work for us:

  • Experience in Volunteer Management

  • Knowledge and compliance with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement

  • Leadership skills with managerial experience, leading teams of paid and unpaid staff

  • Ability to problem solve and provide advice to the volunteer team and hiring managers

  • Experience with grants, reporting and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) will be highly regarded

  • Implementation and review of processes for identifying needs, recruitment and retaining of volunteers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to network easily with internal and external stakeholders

  • A creative, innovative drive with strong attention to detail and excellent computer skills

  • A commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of St Vincent’s Care.

  • Up to date police check and vaccinations (COVID-19 and Influenza)
