About the Role
An opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Civil Works Team to undertake a variety of tasks associated with planned and reactive civil maintenance and rehabilitation. The position involves driving trucks, operating plant and equipment including but not limited to tractors, rollers, water carts and carrying out manual labouring as required.
What you will be doing:
• Carry out tasks associated with the maintenance of Council’s Civil Infrastructure including road and drainage maintenance, unsealed roads and table drains, removal of spoil and other materials, cleaning and upgrade of drainage structures, weed spraying and other civil related maintenance duties.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks on time and to a high standard.
• Drive a truck and/or trailer combination and operate plant and equipment including daily maintenance checks and reporting of issues.
• Carry out manual labour to support teams.
• Remove and dispose of general litter and hazardous objects.
• Ensure compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• Maintain work vehicles and all equipment in a clean and hygienic condition.
• Offer timely and safe solutions to identified onsite maintenance/construction problems by applying standards, established practices and procedures and/or operating instructions.
• Maintain team engagement and facilitate a culture that reflects the corporate values.
• Use of Council’s electronic works systems.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. NSW Drivers Licence (Class HR or HC)
2. White Card – General Construction Induction Licence
3. Experience in civil maintenance or construction including driving trucks and operating plant and equipment
Position details:
Permanent full-time role on a nine-day fortnight, W0049 Salary: Up to $71K + Superannuation.
