About the role:
Aurizon is currently seeking applicants to join the Wagon Maintenance Depot at Stuart, Townsville.
This role will be responsible for the efficient maintenance of rollingstock to ensure the safe and efficient running of Aurizon’s fleet by performing maintenance and modification on rollingstock and any associated equipment according to operational standards.
This role will:
- Perform troubleshooting, fault rectification duties, repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock.
- Supervise, mentor and assist the development of apprentices and Wagon Maintainers.
- Carry out duties in a safe manner in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) Act.
- Utilise and input accurate data into information and Maintenance Management Systems.
- Assist with the implementation and development of quality improvement in the area to enhance customer service.
About you:
- High level of skill in trouble shooting, fault rectification, minor repairs and the carrying out of preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock or similar equipment.
- Substantial skills in working in a collaborative work environment.
- Sound level of skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication.
- Understanding of Quality Management Principles.
- Computer literacy.
- Certificate III in Engineering (heavy fabrication/boilermaker) – essential
It will be advantageous if you also have previous experience as a fitter.
