  • Salary $57,842.00 - $62,221.00 p.a. (pro rata) ASO2| 19 hours per week– 12 month contract with the possibility of extension at the end of this term, including ongoing employment

Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division are looking for their next Ward Clerk to join their busy and rewarding team! 

The Ward Clerk works in a multidisciplinary team and provides a professional, customer-focused clerical service and is a principal point of contact for external and internal customers.

The Ward Clerk plays a pivotal role in the efficient and effective functioning of the ward/unit and is a central point of co-ordination and communication forward activities and contributes to the ward admission, transfer and discharge service.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Allied Health Manager GEM and the Manager of Administrative Services DivRAP the Ward Clerk role is responsible for:

  • Ensuring computer data regarding admission, transfer and discharge information is accurate, complete and up-to-date for Ward inpatients
  • Maintaining and ordering adequate office equipment supplies for the ward
  • Ensuring that all outpatient appointments, tests and transport are booked if required
  • Providing high quality clerical support to meet ward/unit requirements
  • Ensuring that all relevant information (both electronic and hard data) is processed in an accurate and timely manner to support patient care

About you:

  • Possess a high level of personal motivation, initiative and a strong commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in general administrative activities
  • Proven experience in the use of computers and software applications including word processing and electronic mail
