The Role
AARNet is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operator to oversee and conduct all aspects of warehouse operations at its Macquarie Park storage facility.
This role will be accountable for the effective and reliable operations of AARNet’s inventory warehouse. You will manage and perform duties pertaining to processing, organising, packing, storing, and maintaining inventory for AARNet’s Infrastructure Development Group.
The role is hands on and will require physical work including, including receipting large pallet deliveries, systemising & recording individual equipment items and physically unpacking, lifting & organising stock onto warehouse shelving units (with the aid of operating equipment and/or other personnel where required). The role will require you to pick & pack outgoing inventory as well.
The warehouse stores essential equipment, critical to AARNet's infrastructure services. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and productively with little supervision.
The role offers some degree of flexibility in working hours and would suit someone looking for part time hours spread across a number of days. This responsibilities of this role will be performed within the Macquarie Park storage location so there are not options to work from home.
Responsibilities
Working as the Warehouse Operator you will be accountable for the general operations of the warehouse as well as coordinating and conducting all inventory management activities. Your ability to work with integrity in a safe and efficient manner is crucial.
General Warehouse Operations:
This role will oversee the general day-to-day operations of the warehouse including accountability for warehouse safety, waste collection and other general housekeeping activities. A strong understanding of WHS and quality principles will ensure the warehouse operates in a smooth and safe manner. You will also be responsible for the implementation, management & promotion of effective security mechanisms and protocols to ensure the integrity of AARNet assets.
Inventory Management
Inventory management will form the primary responsibility of this role. AARNet stores a range of inventory items that supports its ability to provide reliable telecommunications services to its customers. Your commitment to accuracy and ability to implement and follow work procedures to a high quality will ensure AARNet’s inventory is systemised and managed successfully. Strong planning and organisation skills are essential in the role. Your ability to apply sound reading and numerical skills will ensure you are able to maintain a highly accurate stock management system.
As Warehouse Operator you will act as a source of knowledge and point of contact for AARNet inventory and equipment inquiries. Your ability to balance competing priorities will enable you to coordinate & conduct logistics activities to ensure stock is received and shipped out in a timely manner. In the role you will regularly receive and organise incoming inventory as well as coordinate logistics of spare inventory across other sites in Australia. Your previous experience in a similar role, including experience with operating handling equipment will ensure you are able to manage an efficient and safe warehouse environment.

You are an Australian Permanent Resident
Previous experience in a similar role
You have a valid Australian Divers Licence.
Forklift license (preferred)
Strong technology & computer skills (MS word, excel etc)
