As a group, we are growing rapidly and as part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan (QEJP), actively helping to advance the energy transition towards net zero.Our Supply team currently has a 6-month fixed-term, full-time opportunity available for a Warehouse Operator to be located at our Eagle Farm Distribution Centre and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.About your new role:As a Warehouse Operator, you play a pivotal role in supplying required materials and equipment to EQL depots based throughout South East Queensland, ensuring field teams have exactly what they need and when to perform their jobs effectively and on time. You efficiently process inbound and outbound orders and competently pick, pack and label materials from receipt right through to dispatch.Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager and working with the support of a large, high performing team, you safely utilise tools, operating plant and equipment such as forklifts, powered mobile plant, pallet wrappers and cable winding machines, ensuring warehouse functions and maintenance duties are performed in accordance with safe work procedures.You regularly undertake monthly safety audits, report hazards, and ensure records and documentation relating to stock control and supply levels are entered into corporate data systems in a timely manner. You collaborate with field crew members, third party suppliers, external customers regarding materials and transportation of various supply products and equipment.You also recycle and scrap redundant materials returned from the field including dismantling testing and draining of transformer oil (including PCB contaminated oil), and other contaminated and hazardous waste products.The remuneration for your new role is from $77k to $91k plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight.For more information about this role, click on the Position Description link located at the bottom of the page.Why choose to work for us?It’s an exciting time to join us and to be involved in the energy sector, so consider us for your next career move, where you will experience:

About you:You have demonstrated experience working in a Warehouse Operator role previously. If you hold a formal qualification in Warehousing Operations or Supply Chain Operations, although not essential, this is considered highly desirable.You must hold a ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and forklift ticket. It’s a bonus if you also hold a heavy vehicle (HV) licence and/or loading crane and front-end loader ticket.You have a thorough understanding of material handling, storage, inventory and warehousing methods and proven knowledge of heavy vehicle combinations including operating requirements, load restraint and loading/unloading exclusion zones.You have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. Your sound computer skills in data entry, supported by your previous experience in processing documentation enables you to support your wider team in meeting deliverables.Your understanding of workplace health and safety policies, electrical safety regulations, Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility Law (CoR), Load Restraint Guidelines and Supply works practices is highly beneficial to your ability to hit the ground running in this role.Most importantly, you strongly align with our values: We’re Safe – We Belong – We Grow - We Deliver.Please note as part of the recruitment process, you’ll be required to undergo a pre-employment medical.About us:Energy Queensland is the group of electricity distribution, retail, and energy services businesses 100% owned by the state of Queensland.
