AddressWe are seeking an experienced Wash Pad Operator based at our Depth Defence Logistics Centre at Mount St John, Townsville.
We primarily serve defence and government supply chains and provide all normal freight services for import and export cargo by air or sea. This includes DAFF washing and treatments.
It is an exciting time to join our business as we continue along our journey of ongoing expansion and growth. Due to this we are currently hiring an experienced Wash Pad Operator with general yard experience who will be responsible for biosecurity regulations, cleanliness of the yard, warehouse and logistics, as well as a customer focused attitude. You will be a hands-on person with the ability to adjust within a fast paced environment.
Specific duties will include:
- Some interstate and international travel may be required.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management skills;
- Current driver's license; current MR license; HC license is highly desirable however not necessary.
- Forklift license with experience with 16Te Forklift desirable, but not essential.
- MSIC and/or ASIC card, or the ability to obtain.
- A great team to work alongside
- Safety conscious with the ability to work to a Safe Work Method Statement.
- Experienced with operating a pressure washer.
- Good mechanical aptitude or qualifications.
- General cargo handling experience.
- Ability to work in remote areas when required.
- Ability to obtain a defence clearance.
- Ability to pass a random drug and alcohol testing.
- Perform daily pre-start checks on plant and equipment.
- Perform Job safety analysis.
- Safe and efficient operation of equipment, machinery and vehicles.
- Liaise closely with the Fleet Controller, Supervisor and Operations Management regarding day-to-day operational requirements
- Work with a clear focus on safety and the customer; and
- Undertake safe work practices

The base salary will be commensurate with experience and there is a performance linked quarterly bonus available for all team members.
A Defence Force background would be highly regarded but is not essential.
