The role of a Truck Driver responsible for waste management involves several key responsibilities:
- Pushing and Pulling Bins: This includes maneuvering waste bins on both flat and uneven surfaces to ensure they are properly positioned for collection.
- Lifting and Carrying Large Hoses: Handling and transporting heavy hoses used in waste collection operations safely and efficiently.
- Tarping Skips: Ensuring that skips (large containers used for waste collection) are securely covered with tarps to prevent spillage during transportation.
- Operating Vehicle Systems: Proficiency in operating the various systems of the waste collection vehicle, including but not limited to, hydraulic lifts, compactors, and safety mechanisms.
- Waste Collection: Executing the collection of different waste streams according to schedule and route plans, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Adhering to Job Function Analysis (JFA): Following specific role responsibilities outlined in the Job Function Analysis document for the position.
What are we looking for?
- Experience requires 4+ years as a Truck Driver with a valid license, preferably in the waste management driving industry.
- A clean driving record is essential, and applicants must be agreeable to pre-drug testing as well as random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
- A valid High Rigid License, clean driving record, white card and appropriate PPE.
This role offers a casual-to-permanent placement opportunity, with rates commensurate with experience. However, the starting base rate is below.
Standard: $40+ ph
Overtime: $60+ ph
