About the role
The Water & Catchments Officer is a key role within the Asset Systems and Environment Department as it ensures oversight of diverse and complex projects focussed across our Special Water Supply Catchments areas.
Working closely with key stakeholders and regulators the role is responsible for the development and implementation of a program of works designed to protect and improve catchment and waterway health as a commitment set out in Strategy 2030.
You will support strategies relating to water quality risk management planning and compliance with legislation, and seek out innovative improvements and efficiencies that may challenge the operational status quo.
About you
As an emerging leader in the environment or water industry you will be passionate about protecting our natural resources and seek out areas of improvement. You will be naturally inquisitive and capable of influencing stakeholders through your persuasive communication skills. A true problem solver, you enjoy collaboration and participating in group settings.
Working with stakeholders will be motivating as you articulate complex technical information and knowledge of relevant Acts and legislation leading to best practices solutions. Your background and understanding of environmental management will be key to your success in this role.
Your practical and technical expertise will be underpinned by a qualification in Engineering or Science and combined with your growth mindset, will enjoy taking challenges head on and delivering high quality outcomes. Your growth and professional development will be supported by a close knit highly engaged team.
