Water Truck Driver / Yard Sweeper

Raw Metal Corp is a privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the scrap metal recycling and wrecking industry. The primary function of Raw Metal Corp is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?

We seek a reliable and experienced Water Truck Driver / Yard Sweeper who is focused, self-motivated, flexible, able to prioritise and focus in a busy environment. Be able to communicate clearly on the two way system with both the weighbridge, customers and trucks in our yard.

Be able to drive a forklift, assist the yard staff where required.  Posses a can do attitude and have the ability to take instructions.

What will my responsibilities be?

• Operate and maintain the Water Truck to ensure proper watering of the yard to minimize dust and maintain a safe working environment.
• Sweep and clean the yard using designated equipment to ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct a pre-start check of the truck daily to ensure everything is running smoothly and safe to drive.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Key Expectations:

• Valid HR driver's license (Preferable) with a clean driving record
• Experience operating heavy equipment, such as Water Trucks and sweepers, preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including Saturdays when needed (not every week).

It’s a Casual with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
