Senior Water Well Driller
Work Location:
Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples
Roster:
8D6R - FIFO ex Perth, Port Hedland, Karratha, Busselton, and Broome
Fortescue are currently seeking experienced Senior Water Well Drillers to operate and supervisor Foremost DR24HD drill rigs at maximum efficiency, while maintenance safety, environmental and heritage standards, to achieve required operational targets for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate drill rig and support (mobile plant) equipment in accordance with the manufacture’s (OEM) specifications and Fortescue’s procedures.
- Drill and construct water bores as per scope of work
- Identify when consumables and supplies are to be ordered to ensure the continuous operation of the rig.
- Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with Fortescue values.
- Comply with Zero Harm principles on a daily basis
- Meet daily operational targets
- Maintain assets to operational capacity
- Constantly strive to increase process efficiency
- Effectively supervise drill crews
- Supervise development of Trainee Driller
Qualifications and Experience
- WA HR Driver's Licence- MC preferred or willing to attain within 3 months of employment.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
- RIIVEH305F Operate and Maintain a Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle
- Work Safe WA High Risk work Licence - FL, DG, CN
- Extensive Foremost DR24HD experience or similar.
- Communication/ interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Class 1 or 2 Waterwell Driller’s License – RA or RM endorsement.
- Certificate III and IV in Drilling Operations
- Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs
- Time management skills
- Basic mechanical Knowledge
- Ability to lead multiple teams
