  • Salary - Total Indicative Remuneration - $105,155 to $170,687 (includes award salary, superannuation and any other monetary benefits) - Classification - MDP2
  • Employment Full time - Term Contract (temporary up to February 2028)
About the OpportunityWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as Chief Resident - Paediatrics within The TMO Unit where you will be responsible for:
  • Advocate for Trainee Medical Officers (TMO's) by participating on internal and external committees and meetings.
  • Mentoring TMO's and the facilitation of critical incident debriefing for TMO's working on the Paediatric after-hours roster.
  • Pastoral care, education and teaching activities, workforce planning and participating in the orientation program for all TMO's.
  • Support the After-Hours Coordinator and the TMO Unit to coordinate the after-hours roster.

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month Paediatric Chief Resident placement will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Advanced Paediatric Trainee status with Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
  • Ability to work as an effective team member in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Clinical experience and competence in the practice of Paediatrics.
