Weed Control Team Leader (Field Based)

The Role

We seek an experienced operator to take the lead role in our weed management field operations to allow us to continue to deliver on our vision to “leave a lasting impression on landscapes and people”.  The core elements of this full-time role include:

• Leading the implementation of Weed Control field activities
• Working closely with project managers, supervisors and other Team Leaders to understand and deliver project scopes
• Setting goals and tracking team progress, productivity, and timesheets through templates, registers, databases, and GIS
• Liaison with the Operations Director regarding planning and scheduling of activities
• Ensuring that internal standards and HS&E legislation are met, with safety given paramount importance
• Quality control and monitoring
• Assisting with recruitment and training / mentoring of new personnel
• Research and trials to improve practices and outcomes
• Equipment maintenance, and
• Assisting with revegetation and seed collection project implementation.

We do not normally take on Weed Control only projects.  Our Weed Control needs revolve around achieving successful outcomes for our restoration projects only.

Experience and Qualifications

• Leadership experience
• Pest Technician Licence WA Department of Health (or units completed to attain)
• Three years’ experience in manual and chemical weed management techniques in the revegetation, environmental, landscaping, forestry, horticulture or related industries
• Knowledge of Perth native plant and weed species
• Certificate in Conservation and Land Management / Horticulture or related qualification
• Current C class driver’s license required.

Field work is the primary function of this role, requiring staff to be physically fit as field works are varied and can be physically demanding.

An attractive salary package ($80K+) will be negotiated based on experience and skill set of the successful applicant.
