Lead Group have recently partnered with a fabrication workshop specialising in Sheet Metal and stainless steel fabrication. Due to continued growth, and securing a few large projects, they are now on the hunt for a motivated and experienced welder/Sheet Metal Worker to join the team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our fabrication process, from interpreting shop drawings to cutting, shaping, and welding various metal components.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Select and prepare various Sheet Metal materials according to project requirements.
- Utilize hand and power tools, including shears, brakes, punches, and drills, to cut, bend, and form Sheet Metal.
- Operate welding equipment, such as MIG and TIG welders, to join metal components with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and adhere to safety protocols.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project deadlines.
- Trade qualification in Welding or Sheet Metal Work (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a welding and/or Sheet Metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Great hourly rate - up to $50 p/h
