North and West Remote Health (NWRH) is currently seeking adaptable Wellbeing Clinicians to join their team in Mornington Island and Normanton. Aboriginal Health Workers or those with experience and qualifications in the Community Services field strongly encouraged to apply.
Flexible working hours and Fly in Fly Out (FIFO) out of Mount Isa positions will be considered for the right applicant.
As a Wellbeing Clinician, your primary responsibility but not limited to will be to deliver high quality Early Intervention programs in community to improve Mental Health and Wellbeing outcomes for clients and community. You will engage in direct client support to adults, youth, children and families, provide a range of practical supports including NDIS support, transport, psychosocial supports, recidivist supports programs. You will be required to liaise with community to plan, deliver and evaluate program specific wellbeing services and community education activities, in accordance with organisational and program funding guidelines. This will be achieved by:
  • Assessing clients' needs and developing and implementing social and emotional wellbeing plans for a range of clients possibly including people experiencing drug and alcohol issues, families requiring support, children and youth, people with disabilities and more;
  • Talking with clients to assess how we can support them, including referring to agencies that can provide additional help;
  • Reporting on the progress of clients and maintaining accurate and timely health records and statistics;
  • Continually seeking out opportunities for youth and adults to connect to their wellbeing in innovative and culturally appropriate ways;
  • Working with the broader community to build local capacities in identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating community-based initiatives to support wellbeing
You will travel to various and culturally diverse communities, including discrete First Nations areas across the North-Western regions of Queensland. The NWRH team often cover a lot of distance and you will have the opportunity to see very remote parts of Australia.
Helping those who may not otherwise receive healthcare and support, you’ll get to see the real difference your work makes in their lives, allowing clients to live and receive treatment locally.

You will have high-level communication and negotiation skills to establish and support respectful and trusting relationships with individuals, teams, NWRH staff and the community at large.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you'll receive an excellent starting salary from $57,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience, PLUS a range of additional benefits, including:

  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia;
